Description of Flight "Schloss Salem"

Starting in Friedrichshafen, this 45-minutes flight goes in northwesterly direction. On the way to Schloss Salem, you will see Markdorf at the foot of the Gehrenberg mountain. Here a Cistercian monastery was founded in 1137. Salem is famous for its boarding school that was established in a former monastery building by Prince Max of Baden in 1920. A further attraction in Salem is the Affenberg (monkey hill), where about 280 Barbary monkeys live in a small forest of nearly 20 hectares. You will be fascinated by the town Meersburg near Lake Constance and its well preserved old center. The landmark of this town is the fortress of Meersburg, which is the oldest inhabited German fortress, with its “New Castle” next to it. After that, you will return to Friedrichshafen via Hagnau and Immenstaad.*

A passenger must be able to walk in normal speed about 30 yards over grass to reach the stairs to the airship and to step up and down the stairs on his own that might be moving. In case this requirement cannot be met, we will unfortunately not be able for safety reasons to transport this passenger. We reserve the right for a final on-site decision on the day of the flight, even if this requirement has been regarded as being achievable during booking.
